Current Obsession // Tiilda Hat + Mittens

Current Obsession - noshow socks Instagram(image via @yumirumiknits)

The talented designer, Inese Sang, who I’m lucky enough to call my friend, has just released this gorgeous set of Tiilda Hat and Mittens as a free Ravelry download!

I simply adore knits in neutrals and the simple cable detail knit in bulky weight has me itching to cast on ASAP! This will be my first attempt at making mittens and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. Winter is definitely here!

I too, am a pom-pom lover so you can bet I will have an epic one on my hat as well 🙂

Vlog – episode 1

I’m wearing the Noctilio shawl by Lisa Mutch in the colorway Metallurgy.

style and grace

and gents, too!

To each and every one of you who offered support, advise (you know who you are!) and for everyone who purchased a bag.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!

I appreciate your enthusiasm and words of encouragement about my work! It’s not easy to put yourself out there and I am overwhelmed with the love everyone has shown me these past few weeks.

Opening a shop has been a dream of mine ever since I fell in love with knitting.

I can’t believe it’s finally here!

I am the maker, the designer (albeit I can’t draw if my life depended on it and that’s where my hubby comes in :)) the photographer, the marketer, the copywriter, the webmaster (hubby helps there too),  the customer service representative, the accounting department, the shipper, AND a mama to 3. Phew!

This is handmade.

Thank you for supporting my small business and for allowing me to contribute to my family by pursuing something I am passionate about.

awesome

Zippered Project Bags

PearadiseIsland_Zipper_project_bags_2

Yesterday, I shared the drawstring bags that will be listed in the shop this Sunday.

I also made these medium sized double zip project bags.  They can hold 2-3 skeins of yarn with plenty of room for your ever-growing WIP. Think shawls, shawls, shawls, baby! Or perhaps, pieces of a sweater?

It can be easily folded over to be used as a yarn bowl

or even as a clutch!

PearadiseIsland_knitterati_clutch

Because there have been many times since I started knitting, where the outfit called for a clutch to hold just the bare necessities – a phone, a credit card, keys and lip gloss – but we knitters have one more thing to add to that list. Les WIP 😉

The shop opens this Sunday, Nov. 12 at 2pm, EST.

Hope to see you there!

Drawstring Project Bags

PearadiseIsland-drawstring-project_bags

Ever since I first learned to knit, I have been dreaming of making a project bag to match my aesthetic. I’ve spent countless hours designing, testing, and troubleshooting every little detail until I found the right fit.

I am and will always be a sock knitter so naturally, my first bag was designed with this in mind.

A drawstring with an outer zipper pocket for easy access to notions. (The one I carry at all times is the Silvalume Handi Tool by Susan Bates. Because when you’re a mama to tiny humans and you drop a stitch? Ain’t nobody got time to be digging in the bag for it!)

I used linen as the outer fabric and a neutral canvas for the lining. Each bag was screen-printed and sewn by me at home.

**These will be available in our shop. Our grand opening is this Sunday, November 12 at 2pm EST. I hope you’ll stop by and check it out!**
